The group was set up in January 2008 by 8 Deaf Youth Orchestra players who love composing and performing original music with their own orchestral instruments. To date, the group has performed in numerous festivals across the country including the Schools Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Harrogate International Youth Festival and Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. It won the “New composition Award” at the National Festival of Music for Youth in 2008. What the players have achieved in such a short space of time is remarkable.
