As part of the Deaf Youth Orchestra project, we run group instrumental tuition workshops once every month on Saturday afternoons in Huddersfield. These sessions enable all the Deaf Youth Orchestra players (and new players) to support one another as they learn on their instruments. This is very important to build confidence, as well as a fun way to make new friends. All the tutors are experienced at working with young people with a hearing loss and British Sign Language interpreters are available for ease of communication between the tutors and pupils. We can provide tuition on guitar, percussion and keyboard as well as a range of woodwind, brass and stringed instruments. If required, instruments can be provided on loan. There is a subsidised fee (payable each term) for parents to contribute towards the cost of the tutors.
